The Wait is Over! Rudolph & Taco Go Home Together
When Rudolph and Taco arrived at the shelter in December 2025, they had no idea how long their journey would take. For six long months, this inseparable pair watched dozens of dogs go home waiting patiently for someone to adopt them together. That wait is finally over!
Check out the update below from their new family to see how they're settling in, and visit our website to catch a full photo gallery of Rudolph and Taco thriving in their new home!

Rudy and Darryl’s (formerly known as Rudolph & Taco) happy tail began when they were adopted on June 12th. Since being adopted, we’ve been learning their personalities and quirks; we have discovered that Rudy is the ultra-clingy one and Darryl is more of the independent type. They are so sweet and loving but both have mischievous streaks that usually come out when we aren’t home; no dog bed, blanket or pillow is safe from shredding and annihilation. We quickly learned that plushies do not stand a chance with these guys so every tough toy we’ve come across has been acquired for their entertainment. They love morning walks and the dog park just as much as they love lounging on the couch. We are enjoying life with these 2 crazy pups.
We had DNA testing done and the results show that they are brothers with their top 5 breeds being Rottweiler, Great Dane, German Shepherd, Great Pyrenees & Belgian Malinois.

HUGE thanks to Rudolph and Taco’s adopters for opening their hearts and home to this dynamic duo.

Vera, Stewart, and Hufflepuff have each spent their week in the spotlight, charming everyone they meet, yet their perfect families haven’t found them just yet.

Remember Lil Man, the sweet pup who came to the shelter needing a little extra TLC?
Thanks to your incredible generosity, he received his vital heart medication and recently completed his much-needed dental work! Now feeling his absolute best, he has officially stepped into his next chapter as Pop Pop and he is ready to find his forever home.
If you're looking for a loyal best friend, Pop Pop is ready to steal your heart. This handsome 9-year-old is a champion cuddler who believes there's no such thing as being too close to his people. Whether you're relaxing on the couch or heading out for an adventure, Pop Pop just wants to be by your side.
He's house trained, dog friendly, and loves people. Pop Pop is heartworm negative, up to date on his vaccines, fully caught up on his dental care, and doing wonderfully on his daily maintenance heart medication.
His ideal home is with someone who's home often or can take him along for the ride. He doesn't enjoy being left alone or spending time in a kennel—he simply wants to be with the people he loves.
If you’re ready to give Pop Pop his forever home, reach out to Mutts N Such Rescue today and help his Happy Tail begin!

Community Partner Spotlight

Struttin’ in the Kitchen brings fresh, handcrafted sourdough to our community — all made by local baker Tammy Struthers. Every loaf starts with just three simple ingredients (organic unbleached flour, sea salt, filtered water) and a two‑day process that gives her breads their signature flavor. Tammy creates everything from classic sourdough to sweet treats, breakfast items, and even boozy breads, plus her fan‑favorite Struttin’ Stuffin’ Mix available by request. You can order online for Saturday pickup or find her each Sunday at the Carrollton Artisan Market.
And when Tammy isn’t baking up delicious goods, she’s volunteering her time with FLEAS, supporting neighbors and pets across the Little Elm area. We’re grateful for her delicious baked goods, her generosity, and her partnership.

🐕 Dog Body Language: All About the Play Bow
Front end down, rear end high, and tail wagging—the play bow is one of the most famous signals in dog body language. But while it usually translates to a friendly "Let's play!", context is everything. In her latest blog, Nicole Kohanski at Wiggle Butt Academy breaks down what a play bow really means, how to tell when play is mutual, and how to read the rest of your dog's subtle body language.
