Your Gift in Action: Elda's Story
When Elda was found after a hit-and-run, she was suffering from a broken femur, a damaged pelvis, and severe pain. After emergency treatment, she returned to the shelter to wait for an owner who never came. But thanks to this community, she didn’t have to face the rest of her journey alone.
Because of your support, Elda received the surgery and medical care she desperately needed and moved into a loving foster home to recover. Her healing journey hasn’t been easy, but day by day she’s getting stronger.
Today, Elda is eating on her own, walking more confidently, and showing off the sweet personality everyone fell in love with. Her tail wags are back and she has discovered her favorite stuffed "baby".
She still has healing ahead, but every step forward is possible because people like you believed she deserved a second chance.
You can continue following her journey and celebrating every milestone with her on our socials using #helpeldaheal.

Mental Health Awareness Month:
How Pets Support Our Well-Being
May is Mental Health Awareness Month, and it’s the perfect time to celebrate the quiet, powerful ways our pets help us feel grounded. Whether it’s a wagging tail, a soft purr, or a familiar routine that keeps our days steady, animals play an important role in our emotional well‑being.
If you’ve ever wondered why pets make such a difference — or how to deepen that connection — this thoughtful piece from Nicole Kohanski of Wiggle Butt Academy explores the science and heart behind it all.

Understanding Feline Anxiety
Mental Health Awareness Month is a meaningful time to recognize that our cats have emotional lives just as complex as ours. Anxiety in cats isn’t just a phase or a quirk; it can affect how they eat, sleep, interact, and feel in their own home. Hiding, avoiding touch, overgrooming, or changes in behavior are often signs that a cat isn’t feeling safe or secure.
The encouraging part is that feline anxiety is both understandable and manageable. With the right approach, we can reduce stress, build confidence, and help cats feel more at ease in their environment.
If your cat has been showing signs of stress, this guide from Christian Flournoy, CPDT-KA at Purrfect Paws University explores the root causes of anxiety and shares practical, compassionate strategies to support your cat’s emotional well-being.
